JSON Schema Validator
This JSON Schema validator checks that a JSON Schema itself is valid (draft-07 or 2020-12), and catches typos such as "minimun" that validators silently ignore.
What you get
- Validate JSON Schema documents themselves with Ajv (draft-07 and 2020-12).
- A JSON Schema linter: unknown keywords, typos, unresolvable $refs and invalid patterns that would make rules silently do nothing.
- Check JSON Schema syntax before you use it: every keyword value and $ref must be valid.
- Private and free: everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and there is no sign-up.
How each result is checked
- The schema is compiled with Ajv, a reference JSON Schema validator: every keyword value and $ref must be valid.
- Every keyword is checked against the JSON Schema vocabulary; unknown ones are listed (often typos).
- Patterns are checked to be valid regular expressions.
What can't convert exactly
- External $refs (other files or URLs) can't be followed here.
Questions
Why warn about unknown keywords?
JSON Schema ignores keywords it does not know, so a typo like "minimun" means the rule silently does nothing.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, in a background worker. Nothing is sent to a server.
Does it validate JSON data against a schema?
This page checks the JSON Schema itself: that every keyword and $ref is valid for draft-07 or draft 2020-12, and that no unknown keyword or typo makes a rule silently do nothing. It does not check data against the schema yet.
How do I use the JSON Schema Validator online?
Paste your input or open a file on the left. The result appears on the right as you type, already checked; copy or download it. Nothing is uploaded: the JSON Schema Validator runs in your browser.
